On April 14, 2026, IONNA announced a strategic partnership with Circle K to expand access to high-power EV charging across the United States.

Key facts

  • The partnership targets more than 350 Rechargeries @ Circle K sites across the U.S.
  • IONNA plans to convert and upgrade around 85 existing Circle K charging sites.
  • The first sites are expected to start serving customers by the end of 2026 with up to 400 kW charging and both NACS and CCS access.

Context and details

IONNA said the rollout combines its charging technology and driver-first experience with Circle K’s nationwide retail footprint. Circle K operates more than 7,300 stores in the U.S., giving the project a broad base for convenient highway and urban charging stops.

According to the announcement, IONNA will both take over operation of parts of Circle K’s existing charging portfolio and accelerate new deployments at premium, high-traffic sites where chargers do not yet exist.

Why it matters

For EV drivers, the project matters because it links charging with locations people already use for food, drinks and quick stops. For the industry, it shows that retail and fuel-site partnerships are becoming a key route for scaling reliable fast charging.

What it means in practice

For similar projects in Israel, the main lessons are site selection, available grid power, traffic flow, weather protection, cable management and the overall driver experience around the charger — not just the charger power itself.

What to check before making a practical decision

Before making decisions based on this news, check whether the official rollout schedule has been updated and whether each site is a plan, an upgrade or a location already live for customers.
