The IONIQ 9 expands the Israeli electric market into a segment that still has relatively few choices: a large three-row family SUV. It is Hyundai’s electric flagship and is offered with either seven seats and rear-wheel drive or six seats and a more powerful all-wheel-drive system. Its 3.13-metre wheelbase is intended to provide usable space in all three rows.

What changed and why it matters
The large 110.3 kWh battery supports an official range of up to 620 km in the rear-wheel-drive version. The Calligraphy model trades some range for stronger performance and a more luxurious six-seat cabin with separate second-row seats. The vehicle also offers a flat floor, numerous charging ports and family-oriented storage solutions.
Charging and everyday use
Fast charging uses the Hyundai group’s 800-volt technology, with 10–80% quoted at about 24 minutes on a high-power charger. At home, the battery is large, so regular overnight charging and a stable parking place are especially valuable. Even at 11 kW, a full recharge from very low charge takes many hours; most owners will normally top up rather than wait for 0–100%.
What to check before ordering
Before ordering, decide whether six or seven seats are more important and measure the parking space: the IONIQ 9 is over five metres long. Also check the home electrical capacity, cable route and load management, because a large-battery family vehicle is most convenient when it can charge reliably every night.
